Granite

Granite is one of the most widely used types of stone in the building, which is used in floors, walls, and stairs.  This beautiful stone was previously used in the building facade, but in recent years, after realizing the stone disadvantages, it is no longer used as a building facade stone.

An internal igneous rock, granite (as opposed to external igneous rocks such as rubble), is also known as khara rock in Persian. This type of stone has a texture with medium to coarse grains and despite its different constituent minerals, it can be found in various colors from pink to deep gray and even black.

It is necessary to know that granite is one of the heaviest stones with great strength and resistance.  Nevertheless, this stone can not only play an important role in strengthening the building, it is also used as an element to decorate different buildings as a result of its varied colors.

Advantages of Granite

  • High strength and resistance
  • Resistance to water and chemicals
  • Beauty and uniform surface
  • Various colors

High strength and resistance

As mentioned, granite (or Khara) stones are one of the strongest and hardest stones, and for this reason, they are widely used as building materials.  Being a symbol of hardness and resistance, granite does not scratch easily.  As such, it can be used in high-traffic areas.  It also has high resistance to heat.

Resistance to Water and Chemicals

Also, granite is resistant to water penetration and is not easily damaged by impact; With these in mind, it can be said that granite has durability in industrial environments. Corrosion resistance is another advantage of granite stones, so that if chemicals are poured on it, it will not be damaged.
